The history of Zhongtai Group dates back to the pesticide factory affiliated to Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural College (predecessor of Xinjiang Agricultural University), founded in 1958. In 1962, the factory was renamed Xinjiang Caustic Soda Plant, emerging as one of Xinjiang’s earliest chlor-alkali chemical enterprises. In 1995, it changed its name to Xinjiang Chlor-Alkali Plant. In 2001, the enterprise completed shareholding system reform and established Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Co., Ltd. On December 8, 2006, Zhongtai Chemical was successfully listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 002092).
